Every day, we meet people battling different health conditions. Most of them have indeed taken steps to counter these complications and/or disorders whereas a few are still adamant to do so or may lack the financial capacity to do so. However high the cost may be, nothing should ever come between you and taking care of your body and being concerned about your health.
Just like we could find a lady wearing a waist trainer for her hips, one with dental complications wearing braces to enable proper development of teeth or another with back pain wearing a back belt, it should be the case with men and women who have foot ulcers and/or wounds wearing shoes specifically designed and produced to help them counter the effects of these wounds. A foot ulcer can have effects that go as far as rendering one immobile. Many victims have since given up on walking around because they have wounds on their feet.
When we talk of wounds and /or ulcers, we’re not referring to simple cuts and blisters. Some of these wounds are large in that they cover almost 70% of the foot. As if being immobile is not enough, these wounds have deprived many victims of their livelihoods. Stress and diminishing self-love also come in handy when one is faced with a health challenge of the sort.
Very little research has been made in this area and it is for this very reason that foot-care is not a priority big enough to be of far reaching concern. Very little care (below the bare minimum) is given to people with foot complications; wounds and ulcers in this case. So little is known about shoes designed specifically to offer help in this area and that’s why some victims end up developing gangrene and/cancer as a result of these uncared for wounds.
Bravo Shoes, under its diabetic foot-care wing has taken on the mantle to check this very worrying problem. Shoes specifically meant for victims of foot ulcers have been stocked and with more education, sensitization and exposure, the entity hopes to put an end to this problem.
